So we were reminiscing on being student nurses when one piped up about being in 3rd year and allocated to do work experience in A&E. A young man was brought in with a gun shot wound to the lower leg and was surrounded by all medical personal. This is when they thought it would be a perfect oppertunity for her as a student nurse to assess his pain status. Bravely she approached him knowing that all eyes were on her and asked him how his pain was. "Well it's pretty bad" he said. "Okay. Can you describe it to me? Is it a shooting pain?"...
Even the young victim broke out laughing with everyone. She on the other hand she turned puce, turned around and walked out of the room.
